How to Evaluate a Private Label Silver Jewelry Manufacturer in Jaipur (A Real Checklist)

Jaipur has hundreds of jewelry manufacturers, and almost every one of their websites says the same three words: quality, trusted, reliable. Those words tell you nothing about who to actually work with.

I'm Shaily, design and brand lead at Kesardeep Impex. I've sat on both sides of this conversation — evaluating vendors for our own supply chain, and being evaluated by founders deciding whether to trust us with their first collection. Here's the checklist I'd actually use.

1. Can They Answer Pricing Questions in One Message?

Ask for MOQ and per-piece pricing on a specific design. A manufacturer with organized production tells you immediately — not "depends, let's hop on a call," but an actual number range. Vague pricing usually means unstructured production.

2. Do They Show You Real Process, Not Just Finished Product

Every site has polished product photography. Far fewer show CAD files, casting, or the factory floor. Ask directly for process photos or a video call showing production — a manufacturer confident in their setup will show you.

3. What Happens After Your First Order?

This is the question most founders forget to ask. Does reordering require renegotiating from scratch, or is there a standing account with known pricing and lead times? The manufacturers worth building a long relationship with treat your fifth order as easily as your first.

4. Do They Understand Your Market, Not Just Manufacturing?

A manufacturer that only talks about casting and plating is a vendor. One that asks about your target price point, your customer, and your positioning is a partner. That distinction matters most in your first year, when design decisions still need real back-and-forth.

5. Compliance: Ask, Don't Assume

If you're exporting, ask specifically whether products are cadmium and nickel free and whether they meet the import regulations for your target market. Not every manufacturer volunteers this — ask directly, and get it in writing.

6. Low MOQ Should Mean Actually Low

"Low MOQ" gets used loosely. Ask for the exact minimum by design and by category. A manufacturer offering flexible order sizes for new brands — not just bulk wholesalers — is worth more to a founder than one with the lowest headline price.

The Bottom Line

Choosing a manufacturer isn't about finding the cheapest quote. It's finding the partner who treats your small first order with the same seriousness as a big one — because that's what determines whether you place a second order at all.

At Kesardeep, this is the standard we hold ourselves to. If you want to run this checklist against us directly, reach out for a wholesale enquiry and ask us anything on this list.
